Djibouti(GNA)-An element of the Republican Guard (GR) has suddenly opened fire today at the Djibouti International Airport, injuring two people, including a senior officer, Colonel Idriss, doctor GR.

In a press release issued just after the incident, the staff of the Republican Guard State "regrets" the incident and promised an investigation to elucidate the reasons behind this act.
"The GR regrets the incident that occurred today in Djibouti from where one of its elements has suddenly opened fire, wounding two people including Colonel International Airport Idriss, a physician of the Republican Guard," the statement.
Immediately subdued, the author of this violent act has been detained by the authorities. "The author of this incident is now in the hands of authorities who immediately requested the opening of an investigation to determine the causes of the incident," the statement said.
