Still we are Thirsty!By M. Mohamad A/lahi

It is almost twenty two years now, since Somaliland fortunately gained its independence from regime of Siyad Barre. There is no cloud on one’s eyes that freedom came through the struggle dedication and self sacrifice of the SNM heroes and heroines. Really they can’t be forgotten. They are written in our heart and also our history books. Since then, the country has been tremendously losing its human resource. The youth through various ways in each year, Actually, a countless number of youngsters leave the country every year, let it be men or women and most of them die in harsh Sahara Desert or are detained in a foreign prisons without any trail other face in a human torture including rape, robbery, hunger and so on. Hence, where is the policy Kulmiye promised for the youngsters of today who elected them vehemently? The youth are still leaving the country while others are flooding into the town by hooking up with urban live. There is also deep seated inflation in the country. It is obvious that nothing has been changed.

It was on 27st July 2010 when Mr. Ahmed Mohammad Mohammud (Siiraanyo) who won a land slide victory presidential elections in Somali land was sworn in on Tuesday at a colorful ceremony in the capital city of Hargeisa ‘’ I am proud to become president of this peaceful and united nation, with people who are friendly and proud of their country.” He told some spectators at the ceremony, among them heads of state and government from at least five countries. Siilaanyo who ages 78 years old pledged to deliver on his electrical promises, one of these were to root out poverty and speed up the economic reform programs adopted by his predecessors “We aren’t going to turn back” he said “those who are dreaming that we will reverse the economic reforms are damn wrong” he said in apparent response to critics of his socialist background and his close links.

Let me glimpse at what Kulmiye party used to say by the period of their campaign, one of his greatest theme was ( Don’t immigrate, UDUB is leaving) This was written everywhere, because  in that era uncountable teenagers were immigrating, so Kulmiye were telling the youth that if they  win the Election they will create jobs for the youth.

Absolutely, none of their promises were done, and all that promises become “null and void”

Transparency:

Things get better when the messages get feedback. Such feedback enables the concerned Ministries, Government departments and Local government councils to know whether they are on the right track or not.

So the government should make evident plan that create jobs to the teenagers.

The government should also make evident plan to stop thousands of youngsters who are leaving the country.
